CareReady Free Trial Terms

DRAFT — not legal advice, not yet reviewed by a lawyer.

This is the working draft we hold ourselves to today. The highlighted gaps below are the parts still to be filled in, and we'd rather show you they're missing than make something up.

Drafted 10 August 2026. Do not publish as final until a lawyer has reviewed it.

Last updated: 17 August 2026 — the free PLAN is gone (product review meeting, 17 Aug 2026): there is now one subscription with this one-month free trial in front of it, so section 4 no longer lands anyone on a free tier. Earlier note, 12 August 2026 — the offer changed shape the same day. It was Free for the first twenty: twelve months free, capped at the first twenty independent support workers who took it up. It is now your first month free: one month free, open to every independent NDIS support worker in Australia who signs up. The document below is written to the new shape throughout; nothing below describes the old one.

These are the full terms of the offer we call your first month free: one month of the whole CareReady app, at no cost, for every independent NDIS support worker in Australia who signs up.

They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where these terms say something different about the trial specifically, these ones apply to the trial.

The short version that appears on the landing page is at the end of this document. It says the same things in fewer words. If the two ever disagree, this document is the one that governs, and the short version needs fixing.

1. What you get

The whole app, on the same terms as the subscription, with nothing held back:

  • Bookings, session notes and the dated record behind them
  • NDIS invoicing with the automated pre-send checks, priced off the date the support was delivered
  • No cap on how many invoices you send.
  • The money and tax view of your own records
  • The compliance wallet, with renewal dates
  • The participant and family portal
  • Your public listing on CareReady Connect, at no commission

It is your real business in the app, not a sandbox — your own clients, your own bookings, your own records, kept the same way they would be on a paid account.

Some parts of the product are previews. Registration readiness and CareReady Workforce are still being built out, and the app marks them as previews on screen. We will tell you on the setup call exactly which parts are finished and which are not, so you are not finding out later.

2. How long it runs

One month from the day you sign up. Your account shows the end date from the moment it is created, and we will tell you again before it arrives — not on the morning it lands.

3. What it costs

Nothing. There is no fee, no setup cost and no card required.

We do not ask for a card, and there is nothing set up that could charge you even if we wanted to. CareReady does not have paid billing connected to accounts yet — there is no payment method on file, and no automatic step anywhere that turns a trial into a paid subscription. When billing does go live, moving to a paid plan will always be something you choose and do yourself, never something that happens to your account while you are not looking.

Your own business costs stay yours. The trial covers CareReady and nothing else — not your worker screening, your insurance, your ABN, your phone, or your accountant. CareReady is the software, not the business.

The Registration Readiness Pack is a separate thing, and it does not change any of the above. On the sign-up screen we also mention a one-off pack — a guided checklist, policy templates and an evidence pack for a registration audit — priced from $299 to $499. It is not part of the trial, it is not part of the subscription, and it is not something you are buying by ticking the box: today it is a preview, it does not exist to buy, and the tick only records that you would like to be told when it does. If it is ever offered for sale, that will happen through its own deliberate checkout — its own price shown, its own separate payment, and your own separate yes — at a later date we will tell you about first. Nothing about this trial, and nothing about ticking that box, can ever charge you for it.

4. What happens at the end

After one month, the trial simply ends — there is no free plan underneath it (our Terms of Service, clause 10, defines the one subscription; this document does not restate it separately so the two can never drift apart). Your account and your records stay exactly where they are: you can sign in, see everything and export everything, whenever you like.

If you want to keep using the app, you subscribe. Paid billing is not switched on yet, so for now that means talking to us directly rather than clicking a button — we are not going to build a silent auto-charge into this trial as a shortcut. Nothing starts by itself and nothing is charged unless you have chosen it and a real payment method exists to charge.

Either way, your records stay yours, and you can export the lot at any time from inside the app. Nothing is deleted because a trial ended.

If the price of the paid plan changes before you decide, we will tell you, so the figure you decide on is the real one.

5. Who can take it up

The offer is for:

  • an independent NDIS support worker working in Australia, as a sole trader or through your own small business
  • someone new to CareReady — it is not available on an existing paid account, and it does not apply retrospectively to a subscription already being paid for
  • one trial per person or business. Not one per email address.

We confirm you fit that description on a phone call before the account is set up. If you do not, we will say so on the call.

We may decline a request, and we do not have to give a reason. What we will not do is take a payment for something we said was free.

6. What we ask in return

That you actually use the app, and that you tell us straight when something is wrong or missing.

That is not a condition of anything. You are not required to give feedback, you are not required to keep using it, and nothing is withdrawn or charged if you go quiet. We may ask for a conversation about how it is going; you can say no.

If you do give us feedback, we can use it to improve the product without owing you anything for it — see clause 12 of the Terms of Service.

We will not use your name, your business or your words in marketing without asking you first and getting a yes.

7. Stopping

You can stop at any time, from inside the app, for any reason. There is nothing to cancel in a billing sense, because nothing is being billed.

We can end a trial early if the Acceptable Use Policy is breached, or if the account is not what it was represented to be on the call. Except where there is a risk to someone's data or safety, we will tell you first and give you a chance to sort it out, and you will have time to export your records.

8. Refunds

There are none to give, because no money changes hands. If you are ever charged for something during the trial that you did not choose and agree to, tell us and we will refund it in full.

9. The details you give us when you sign up

When you put your name down we collect your name, your email address, your phone number, anything you write in the message box, and which ad or link brought you to the page.

We use those details to ring you about this trial, and to answer you. We do not sell them, we do not pass them to anyone else for their own marketing, and we do not add you to an unrelated mailing list off the back of this form.

If you would rather we did not hold them, tell us and we will remove them. Note that this is separate from a CareReady account — if you go on to open one, the account and its records are covered by the Privacy Policy, which describes this waitlist collection specifically in section 2.5.

10. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including where a service is supplied at no charge.

11. Changes to this offer

We may change these terms for trials not yet set up. We will not change the deal on a trial already running — if we told you your first month free with no card, that is what you have.

12. Contact

privacy@careready.com.au, monitored by the founding directors, or our contact form — the same details as the Terms of Service, clause 20.

The short version, for the landing page

This is the plain-English summary of everything above, written for the campaign page. It must never say anything the document above does not. If the offer changes, change the document first and then this.

Your first month is free.

One month of the whole CareReady app, free, for every independent NDIS support worker in Australia.

  • What you get. Everything on the paid plan, with no cap on the invoices you send. Your real clients and your real records, not a demo. Some parts, like registration readiness and Workforce, are still being finished — we will show you which on the call.
  • How long. One month from the day you sign up. We tell you the end date then, and again before it arrives.
  • What it costs. Nothing. We do not ask for a card, and billing is not switched on yet — there is nothing anywhere that could charge you by itself. This trial cannot turn into a paid subscription without you choosing it. The Registration Readiness Pack we mention at sign-up is the same story — a separate, optional, one-off purchase that does not exist to buy yet, and will only ever bill through its own future checkout, never through this trial.
  • What happens at the end. The trial ends — nothing charges by itself, and nothing is deleted. If you want to keep using the app you tell us — paid billing is not live yet, so that is a conversation with us, not a button. Your records stay yours either way, and you can export the lot.
  • Who it is for. Independent support workers in Australia who are new to CareReady. One per person or business. We confirm it on the call.
  • What we ask. That you use it and tell us honestly where it falls short. That is not a condition of anything, and you can stop whenever you like.
  • What we do with your details. We ring you about this trial and answer you. Nothing else, and we do not pass them on.

The landing page must also carry a link to these full terms, and the eligibility line above has to be visible on the page itself rather than only behind that link.
